The premiere date for Hallmark Channel’s inaugural Christmas film has been announced. Jordin Sparks will play alongside Michael Xavier in Hallmark’s A Christmas Treasure, the network announced Tuesday. The unique holiday film will premiere as part of the network’s signature “Countdown to Christmas” programming event, which will showcase Christmas covers by Sparks.
A Christmas Treasure a Hallmark Channel original film will star Jordin Sparks
Lou (Sparks) debates whether she should relocate to New York after Christmas to develop her writing career or stay in Pine Grove to continue her family’s local newspaper after unearthing a 100-year-old time capsule and discovering her grandfather’s notebook. Kyle (Xavier), the charming chef, is likewise at a fork in the path, having come to Pine Grove for the holidays. When Lou and Kyle meet, they both have questions about their futures, but the beauty of the holidays, as well as their bond, aids them on their respective journeys. Sparks stated in a statement, “Christmas is so special to me, and I’m glad that I get to share this merry movie with you this year.”
“It was fantastic to be able to sing several of my favorite Christmas melodies as part of the film, one for the first time. It’s a dream come true to be a part of the Hallmark family! I’m confident that people will fall in love with Lou and our tale, which epitomizes the adage “home is where the heart is.” In the film, Sparks will perform two Christmas classics: “This Christmas” and “Oh Holy Night,” with the latter being played on the piano. Her original song “Oh, It’s Christmas,” from last year’s Christmas album Cider & Hennessy, will also be featured. A Christmas Treasure’s premiere date will be announced later.
