Supermodel Gigi Hadid has just announced on Instagram that she will donate all remuneration received from the Fall Winter 2022 Fashion Week shows to refugees of the Russian-Ukrainian war, as well as Palestinian refugees.

Fall-Winter 2022 fashion week season, the Palestinian and Dutch model returns to work after giving birth. She participated in a series of big shows such as Vivienne Westwood, Isabel Marant, Coperni, Versace, Off-White… and the remuneration from these shows is not small. However, she believes that there are more people who need this money than herself right now.

Learning from fellow model Mica Argañaraz, who announced at the end of February 2022 that she will donate part of her salary from fashion weeks to non-profit associations in Ukraine, Gigi Hadid also called for a similar response through his personal Instagram.

“Fashion Week has an early schedule. This means that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during uncertain and heartbreaking periods of history. We cannot control our work schedule. But we wanted our strides to take on a bigger meaning.

Following in the footsteps of my friend Mica Argañaraz, I am willing to donate from the Fall Winter 2022 shows to support those who are victims of war from Ukraine, as well as those facing similar situations in Palestine .

Our eyes and hearts must be open to all the injustices in society. See all people as brothers and sisters, overcoming barriers of politics, skin tone, and spirituality.

Because in the end it is only innocent people who pay the price for war – not leaders who initiate it.”

Gigi Hadid’s sister, Bella Hadid, shares information about trustworthy organizations that people can donate to for victims of the Russia-Ukraine war.

On her personal Instagram, Bella Hadid turned her attention to Nova Ukraine, Save The Children, the International Red Cross, the World Food Program as a few good examples. She wrote:

“Don’t turn a blind eye to what you are hearing about Ukraine and Russia. Leaders are using their people as guns and cannon fodder to achieve political ends. It’s despicable.

We need to unite with communities caught in the middle of war. They are real people with real blood, real lives and real families. Not a video game for Presidents to play with.

I sympathize with the innocent women, men and children in both Ukraine and Russia who are facing situations that no one deserves.”

Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid are the daughters of Mohamed Hadid, who became a refugee in Syria because of the Israeli-Palestinian war. The two models have never forgotten their immigrant roots. Therefore, they always agree with the fight to establish social equality, uphold the spirit of anti-war and call for world peace.
