Listen to free concerts on weekends, watch Christmas movies
Japan Cultural Exchange Center in Vietnam organizes the 23rd garden concert with the name Hanoi Brass Band & Friends . Hanoi Brass Band consists of 6 professional musicians from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, the Military University of Culture & Arts, and the Military Orchestra of the Hanoi Police Department. During the concert, two more guitarists and keyboardists will perform. The show performed 14 songs, including Christmas songs, festivals and Japanese music at 8 pm on December 25.
Exhibition “Vietnam Reimagined – Re-imagine Vietnam”
The exhibition displays paintings about Vietnam by 27 young artists living at home and abroad. Most of the illustrations are digitally drawn, showing Vietnam through a new, unique and familiar perspective. Artists have combined paper and computer sketching or used electronic drawing boards to make the work. The exhibition is open to the public from now until December 30 at the Goethe-Institut Hanoi. In addition, visitors can also use paper and pen at the event to draw their own Vietnam.
The name of the exhibition originates from questions such as: What is painting? What is sculpture? What is arrangement? What is art?… Each “question” is “answered” by the artists through 45 works of various forms from painting, sculpture to installation. There are artists inspired by everyday things, events in life, such as the sculpture “Smoke and dust” in the city. Or the installation series “Excerpts” is taken from the artist’s direct experiences after the flood storm in central Vietnam… The exhibition is open for free every day of the week from 9am – 20h30 at the Art Center Vincom Contemporary Art (VCCA).
