Reminiscing about past periods has always been a way for fashion to reinvent itself. After a long period of the 80s and 90s dominating the runway and street style, the timeline continues into the 2000s for this year’s Fall-Winter. It’s still young and sweet, but Spring-Summer 2022 is forecast to be sexy and daring, based on moments we saw at the Milan Fashion Week shows

The most famous Y2K fashion icon is Paris Hilton with low-rise flare pants, pink tracksuits and especially the super sexy metal mesh dress that makes her the title of party queen. Or the once-popular fashion-music icon of Miley Cyrus also returned in a grand manner. Obviously choosing Y2K as the mainstream means that fashion is paying great attention to teenagers, Gen Z.

The sexy image of the 2000s is most evident in the Versace and Fendi by Versace collections . Not surprisingly, Versace is one of the important brands that contribute to the sexy style of Paris Hilton and Y2K fashion. The famous metallic fabric and the sparkling stone coated fabric are thoroughly used in both collections. Especially at Fendi by Versace, we also see a glimpse of Hannah Montana through a combo of flared pants, a fur collar and characteristic blonde hair.

Blumarine is also a prominent name when it comes to the return of Y2K. From the brand’s first collection, Creative Director Nicola Brognano defined the 2000s as the new Blumarine style. See -through silk fabric , deep bust and high slit dress, low waist/pants or loose halter top… Nicola brings beauty, fashion and a little bit of spoilage suitable for the era of Tiktoker.

Like Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli are also two Made In Italy names that contribute to shaping the sexy style of Y2K. In order to “honor” their achievements, the two jointly renew long-standing fashion “elements” that have contributed to the brand identity. If Dolce & Gabbana has leopard skin, lace lingerie, low-rise jeans that reveal lingerie, Roberto Cavalli has a catalog of animal prints and maxi dresses.

As the debut collection of the new Creative Director Alberto Caliri, the Missoni brand appears with a completely new image in a youthful, healthy and of course very sexy way. The focus of this collection must be the bikinis with the least fabric possible, made with the brand’s famous knitting technique. Most notably, the dresses are cut unreservedly, revealing a bikini top just enough to cover what needs to be covered.
