I realize that when I lived there I didn’t concern myself with the rest of the world and that was a mistake. Oh my God! I’m also a ‘recovering American’. I am going to use that phrase.  It’s not your fault. You guys are fed this “God Bless America and nowhere else.” attitude from the time you are born. You aren’t taught much in regards to geography or politics of other countries. It’s like living in a self absorbed bubble I imagine. I particularly notice it when I am on FB groups and someone asks where everyone is from, most people respond with their country but Americans respond with their city/state.

It’s like you don’t learn about our cities and provinces but the rest of the world should know American geography. I also notice it on American maps. Canada is often drawn smaller than the U.S. and yet Canada’s land mass is actually much larger in reality. Canada is the second largest country in the world. It’s all a brainwashing political game. Unfortunately people can’t see it until they get out, like a cult. You are correct about all of that and it baffles my mind. I’m a proud Canadian and an ashamed American, so glad to be living here. Unwavering deference to science- that is the key plus cohesive leadership from all parties. Congrats Canada you are an example I wish we could follow here in the states. Canada knows how to take care of their people and their health
