Every time I coughed it felt like heavy ice cracking in my lungs- so painful. Anyway, I was taken to the ER and a chest X-ray showed the pneumonia and signs of the virus. I had a fever, oxygen to my blood and bp was low, but blood work was fine. The doc said that the next 12-24 hours would be the turning point as to whether I would get sicker or get better. I had oxygen the whole time and was given Tylenol and cough syrup with hydrocodone. I was released after 15 hours of observation. There is nothing else they could do. Docs don’t want to admit those patients who are on the borderline due to the fact that they could get sicker and there’s only so many resources to go around. I’ve been in a hotel near the hospital since I was released with my body fighting back. I can honestly say that I’ve never felt so sick. It’s really a horrible experience.
