What the Titans have to say about the Colts ahead of their Week 3 showdown

Following an incredible victory in Seattle last Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts appear to be an ideal opponent for the Tennessee Titans on paper. The Colts are 0-2 and have a lot of question marks surrounding their quarterback heading into this game.

After going 5-1 against AFC South opponents last year, the Titans are looking for their first division win of the 2021 season with a 1-1 record. The Colts, on the other hand, have won eight out of their last nine visits to Nissan Stadium. The Titans are hoping to reclaim home-field advantage, where they have gone 9-7 in the last two seasons. Tennessee was thrashed by Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals in front of their own supporters in Week 1. The Colts’ biggest priority leading up to Sunday’s main event has been to stop Titans running back Derrick Henry, something they’ve struggled to do in previous encounters. Denico Autry of the Tennessee Titans reacts to a play during an NFL football game against the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021. “It is what it is,” Autry stated emphatically. “I really admire what they’re doing here (with the Titans).” And it was something I wanted to be a part of. To tell you the truth, someone recognised my value, which is why I selected the Titans.” Autry on facing his former teammates: “Playing against some old colleagues will be fun,” Autry said. “I know what they’re going to do, and they know what I’m going to do, so it’s about even. I’m very confident they’re going to have a little trash talk — it’ll be a little tough at first, but things will calm down.” After practise on Wednesday, Titans safety Kevin Byard said, “I’m expecting to face [Carson] Wentz, but as the week progresses and more information becomes out, we’ll definitely prepare for both quarterbacks.”

“Wentz has a lot of experience as a quarterback in this league, and I understand Eason is a younger player, but we’ll prepare for both of them. In this league, I believe both of them are starting quarterbacks, but we’ll see what happens with the injury report.” “I don’t think there’s a huge disparity in skill sets,” Vrabel says. Vrabel continued, “I mean, I think they’re going to operate their offence.” “You know, Carson [Wentz] has a lot of play strength, and obviously Jacob [Eason] has a lot of limited experience — but their receivers are tough and physical. [Jack Doyle has been there for a long time and has been really productive. Their backs, you know, are incredible.”
