change is occurring and it is the result of a rather ignorant and complacent human population of which I am team pre-k teacher student back to school shirt probably a part. This year I have been making a greater effort to conserve energy, paper, and other resources. However, I have noticed that it is extraordinarily hard to qualify how our actions are directly impacting

at this point nature is going to run its course. I think global warming will continue no matter what we do and I feel no need or ability to stop it. The topic of climate change frustrates me to no end to talk about because it has become so politicized although it is so obviously occurring. Politicians who talk about being aware of climate change are the same ones who inevitably do nothing about it. Politicians who publicly claim that climate change is not an issue are ALWAYS the same people who are being paid millions of dollars by people who have an interest in dirty energy. Those politicians not only defend the pollution of our air and water, but the pollution of the minds of people who they know are naive enough to agree with them just for the sake of disagreeing with team pre-k teacher student back to school shirt another party. WHY WOULD WE MAKE CLIMATE CHANGE UP??? I can only see the evil logic for convincing people that climate change does not exist. My current understanding is that there is broad scientific consensus that climate change is being caused by human activity, and going to have real world consequences over the coming decades if we continue our current level of greenhouse gas emission. While I don’t think scientists know for certain exactly how severe the consequences are we are likely to have more severe weather events, rising sea levels, and a substantial change in the climate. I believe that without a doubt climate change does exist and that there is solid proof that our Earth is at significant risk if we do not counteract the imbalances and changes caused by climate change. I believe that when the rest of the world knows this fact and acts upon their capabilities to stop its spread but the U.S. does not, it is shameful and absolutely reprehensible that choose to stay on the sidelines.
I believe that democracy should have an opinion and, in a fair society, we would be able to voice our opinion, but we stay controlled and limited by the powers vested in the State and lobbying organizations sacrificing our future for short term gain. I think climate change is an issue that every person should be responsible for and that’s the reason why hardly can people take actions. There is a trade off between environment protection and economic development. It is very hard for different people from different country, ethnicity, belief to cooperate regarding slowing down global warming. People all have a tendency to protect their own interests. I think climate change is more of a political tool for a lot of politicians to play with. There are certainly people who care about global warming but personal effort seems to be so limited to change the situation. Because many people cannot feel the direct effects on them, they tend to ignore the issue. Thus, I dont believe global warming would be tackle with through personal small efforts like saving energy. However, I think great technology advancement might contribute to alleviate the issue. Climate change is a huge issue that the world does not seem to take seriously. At the beginning of the semester, I went to see Josh Foxs performance regarding the environment and fracking. He explained that we dont know a lot of what is really going on. In fact, the Obama administration told us that they took climate change seriously, but when push came to shove, instituted more fracking sites, which destroys the environment. This is so frustrating because in our lifetime, the world will become a place in which we will no longer be able to live these lavish lives full of potable water and breathable air. The world needs help, fast. In my opinion, I think that as of currently, we are doing too little to late in terms of trying to curb the global temperature increase. It makes me sad to know that the leaders that we consistently elect are playing the game of politics in giving to the “global warming makes America globally uncompetitive” argument, and that these pressures are only being pressed by a minority of American interests that pour money into lobbying politicians to deregulate carbon emissions. As one of the world’s global leaders, I think that we should set the example for other countries, not the other way around. In terms of personal power, I think that each one of us can make a difference collectively by reducing our own energy consumption and thus carbon emissions. I know climate change exists, is very real, and something we as a population should certainly be concerned about. Previously, I have not had a very strong opinion on it; I certainly am not the most passionate about saving the earth through recycling, etcetera. Yet, I do believe that climate
