I believe that this is a serious issue that needs more attention than it is being given. We do a great job at recognizing issues in our Earth, but not as great of a job at acting to preventsolve them. We need to find an alternative to ffossil fuels or find a way to emit them from space so that they do not reflect the heat back on earth. I also think that people need to want to change and in order to do that we need to scare them into caring about the earth. Show the masses the affects of a stronger hurricane or rising sea levels so that they respond to the fear in a way that helps solve global warming. I was lucky to grow up in a family that held nature and the wild places of the earth in very high esteem. Some of my earliest and fondest memories of family trips are of national parks and trying to spot wildlife wherever I went. I was deeply saddened by the idea that they would soon be gone forever. When I was younger, climate change made me sad more than anything else. Now, that sadness has given way to a growing anger. I am angry about our species’s apparent lack of care for this planet. I am angry that every post on the National Geographic Society’s Instagram sounds like a plea for help. With regards to the legitimacy of man-made climate change, the current evidence is enough for me. Ice is melting, seas are rising, storms are becoming more devastating and more unpredictable.
