my family was the same. We always had friends sleeping over or other guests. No one ever reused towels and wash cloths. Even grown and out on my own I never reused such things. United states army proud army mom camo anti-dust face mask My husband and I pseudo adopted and helped raise three kids. The same rule applied with towels and wash cloths. People think I am nuts because I run a rinse cycle with 1/2 cup of peroxide before setting towels and wash cloths to wash. My feeling has always been “anything that washes the nether regions, no matter how hygienic the person, needs to be sanitized.” Kids going through puberty, menstrual cycles, sweat, semen and other body fluids come into contact with these items, why on earth anyone reuses a towel or wash cloth is beyond me.
Or at best kept separate, as ones for face and others for body only washed really regularly at 60 degrees with a drop of Dettol, tea tree or similar, no fabric softener! we had 9 kids in the family. We are all grown and we were cleaning out our moms apt. And we lost count after 240 towels. She said you cant ever have too many towels no way could I ever use a bath towel to wipe my torso or face on that has been used to perhaps dry my nether regions on the day before or expect my family members to either … there’s 5 of us in our household & we each have a lovely fresh sweet smelling towel daily which totally adds to our confident feeling of complete cleanliness after each shower … it’s no big deal … just a load of washing a day…
